Timber cabins glowing at dusk on the shore of a still lake, mountains behind

Four cabins · Lake Fold · 48° South

Off the grid, on a lake that's yours for the week.

Four timber cabins on a private glacial lake in Patagonia. No road noise, no wifi by design, no neighbours you didn't arrive with — just a wood stove, solar light and seven nights to yourself.

Sleeps 2–4 Solar + wood stove Saturday to Saturday 20 min gravel road

About this page. Fold Lodge isn't real. Frogmade built it to show the kind of site we design for independent stays. The name, the lake, the photographs and every detail here are invented — there is no such place and nothing to book.

The place

A lake, four cabins, and nothing else.

A glacial lake at first light with forest and mountains, mist on the water

Fold Lodge is four cabins on the far shore of a small glacial lake, an hour and a half from the nearest town and twenty minutes of that on gravel. The land around it is private, so the only people on the water in your week are the ones who arrived with you.

There's no restaurant and no reception. You're met at the gate, shown to your cabin, and left alone. Firewood is stacked and dry, the stove is laid, and the pantry has the basics for the first morning. After that, the week is yours.

No wifi, on purpose

There's a signal for emergencies and nothing else. The whole idea is a week where no one can reach you.

Solar and firewood

Each cabin runs on its own panels and a wood stove. We keep you in dry wood; you keep it lit.

By the week, Sat to Sat

One cabin, one booking, seven nights. Changeover is Saturday so the lake is quiet between guests.

The cabins

Four cabins, one on each part of the shore.

Rates are per cabin, per week, and drop outside the December–February peak. Drag to see them all.

Getting here

The last part is gravel.

Fly to Bariloche (BRC). From the airport it's about two hours by car, the last twenty minutes on an unpaved road along the lake. We send exact directions and a gate code once a week is confirmed.

A 4×4 isn't needed from November to April. Outside that, we'll arrange a transfer from town. There's parking inside the gate for one car per cabin.
